It takes the fallen to save the damned.
Harper Sinclair doesn’t own any books. If she can avoid it, she doesn’t read or write at all. Words are dangerous. Beyond the cover of a book, words rearrange themselves for Harper, becoming messages from beyond. Brutal messages. Terrible messages. When she writes, awful things flow from her fingers. She’s a spiritual writer haunted by demons.
Lucas Fox is one of the fallen, an angel whose murderous past keeps him from Heaven. Whose protective, chivalric nature keeps him from Hell. He lives between worlds, content to enjoy his vices while doing just enough to keep him out of the underworld.
But when Harper is forced to sign a contract for a house she buys in Havenwood Falls, the words that appear aren’t her name. Instead, she pens a dire message threatening a fallen angel whose old alliance with a ruler of Hell has made him a target of a powerful demon lord. A warning that draws Lucas Fox to Havenwood Falls to settle old scores and puts Harper Sinclair directly in the line of danger.

The scene would shock most people.
A nun on her knees, giving head to the god of The Underworld.
Haedes’ face is contorted with anger and pleasure melded into one, and Annie’s eyes are wide and tear filled, staring up at him as he continues to thrust himself into her mouth.
At the intrusion, they both turn from where they are positioned. Her at the foot of the super king size mattress, and him towering over her, both hands grasping the black wood of the bed post with white knuckles.
I cough, clearing my throat as Annie’s gaze becomes slightly terrified. She’s bound at the wrists and ankles with black silk, unable to move, but clearly mortified. Her blonde hair falls from beneath the ceremonial wimple he always makes her wear, for a reason I can’t understand, as her jaw slackens and he turns to me, fully naked.
“Your daughter, and yes, she is your daughter –  is under attack from the Demon Lords. She’s coming to stay with us. Thought you’d like to know,” I announce, keeping my chin tilted high and spinning on one heel.

I sacrificed my soul to recover the years that she took from us. Yet, I'm still empty-handed.

I suppose when Brooks said, “See you later,” he meant whenever I could come up another pathetic ruse to get his attention. Fuck that. The path to his heart is proving to be significantly more treacherous than I'd planned for, so I've given up on my own ideas. I picked up a book called Bitches Get Rings: How to Trap Your Man for Good, and in a mere day it has cleared my head—highlighted my priorities. If I want to get Brooks, if I want him to get on one knee and later say “I do,” I have to make myself valuable. He needs to know my worth—supply versus demand.
“Good morning,” two suited men say to me in unison as I reach the top step.
My smile is polite as I step past the heavy doors. “Morning.”
I weave through the pastel herd, slinking down the aisle, eyes searching inconspicuously for the back of his head. It's Easter Sunday. Brooks told Facebook days ago he'd be here when he declined his co-worker's invitation to meet up. Another time, man. Going to church with the fam, he'd said. So, I've been patient. Have read the book twice, and am committed to following its advice. No messaging and asking what he's up to, no accidental butt-dials, no I-thought-you-said-we'd-talk-later-asshole text.
No weakness.
I'm determined now to be a big fucking tease and show him how much he needs me. So, I stalked him. Followed him. Now, I'm here at church—a place I haven't been since my parents' funeral—wearing my Sunday best, and prepared to do my best work.

Review:

I was one of the the ARC readers for this book and loved it! After reading the first one, I could really see some of the people I know take Ivy's personality or just plain be Ivy basically. It's like we all know someone who could be the characters from this book. I loved how Lauren put some flashbacks in this one but from Brook's POV. It did clear up what we learned from the first book. Ivy is still the same but more impatient in this book. You will see her dig more to get Brooks as her boyfriend, do more crazy antics and of course her lying to everyone. The most important part I loved the most and this really made the story complete: Lauren put one part and without trying to spoil it, but when reading the book some people will have to say " Ivy is crazy" and if you read the book a certain place does pop in the book, what threw me the most is the characters involved and how Lauren made Ivy in the scenes. We expected it to happen but how she wrote it and how the characters reacted was written so well, it's not the ending we expected but better. So when you get mad that the books complete, no book 3 really look into the storyline and see how wonderful she made it all fit together. I'm ready for standalones, I want to see if characters expand from where we left off, I want to know what happens after Antidote ends. It's not the books I read where cliffhangers hit or the ending is bad, I loved how she ended it, and I loved how she kept the craziness, and lies, it came together beautifully and I cried towards the end since I was caught up in what was happening. Expect more drama, more teenage hormones basically, lies, deceit, and most important guess if she gets brooks or does a twist happen?

Most girls dream of being princesses, but one princess just wants to be a normal girl.

Ella Carina, crown princess of Aelawyn, knows brutality and lies—she’s seen the way her father rules. Princess. Possession. To her father, the words had the same meaning. She was only as valuable as the alliance formed with her betrothal. Her freedom comes from an unlikely place: an attack on the castle.

When the conquering King offers to protect her from the betrothal her father arranged for political gain, she consents. Hiding her within a peasant family is the only way to keep her and her secret safe.

In this simpler life, Ella flourishes and catches the eye of the local Blacksmith’s son. For once, she can be herself and make her own choices, but the life of a princess—even one kept secret—was never meant to be easy.

Trevor, crown prince of Galder has been searching for Ella, but not because of their betrothal. She is in grave danger from the very people who hid her away. His plan is to show her the truth and help her to safety.

Nothing goes as planned. When Trevor finds her, it’s to discover she’s fallen in love with a peasant. Now he has two goals: help her regain her throne… and show her that she belongs with him.

Excerpt:
I was in my room, lost in my own worries, when the world as I knew it was torn to shreds.

My room was large, and with only a bed and wardrobe inside, it was far too spacious than anything I needed. But it was also my sanctuary. It had to be. Father didn’t allow me to leave the space without an escort, and only then when he gave me permission, which wasn’t often. I considered myself lucky to have a window until that day.
The horrors I saw from that window would stay with me forever.

Sitting quietly in the alcove, watching the comings and goings of the villagers, was how I learned the ever-changing styles in fashion and beauty, how gentlemen and ladies were to properly act, and how some acted very improperly when they thought no one was watching.

The day the Kingdom of Aelawyn fell, I was watching and envying the lives of her people.

Nothing seemed amiss as three large, covered wagons approached the front gate. The man driving the horses that pulled the lead wagon shouted to the guard atop the gate, announcing that they carried supplies, taken from another forest raid. They were granted immediate entry, Father’s guard raising the portcullis for them.

One by one, the wagons crept into the yard. As soon as the gate slammed back to the ground behind the third wagon, a loud whoop sounded. The guards were stunned, so much so that it took far too long for them to spring into action and defend the castle. The wagon canvases were torn to shreds as a small army, clad in armor and donning swords, shields, and all manner of weaponry, unfolded from the wagons and began to slash their way across the yard.

They did not take time to discern villager from soldier, male from female, innocent from guilty.

A river of blood flowed in their wake, draining between the cobblestones. They were so skilled and efficient in battle that they entered the castle before any alarm could be raised to stop them. In no time, they’d taken the castle itself.
